The mission of ACS is to motivate, equip, and mobilize Seventh-Day Adventist Church members to meet unconditionally the expressed needs of people around them, thus fostering a trusting relationship between church and their surrounding communities, and nurturing people toward a restored, abundant life in Jesus. John 10:10 (The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.)
The vision of ACS is that every Seventh-Day Adventist Church be a transforming agent in its community following the method of Jesus to bring help and hope through ministries of compassion in His name. Luke 4:16-21
How:-
- *Assess the needs in your church and community
- *Develop leadership skills
- *Create specialized programs
- *Mobilize the members in our church for service and reach souls for Christ.
- *Total members involvement (TMI)
- *Volunteer with a local community service event (re-building a house for someone, getting involved in making our church look good on the outside so we can invite people around our church for special programs – Cultural day, Health Expo, Pathfinder day, WM/YAWM day, AMO day etc)
- *Befriend new members and nurture them
- *Have a prayer partner in the church and set times when you pray together
- *Twice a year have a special day with a community identified to hand out clothes, food, literature where we cook and share a meal.
Join Us for a Special Neighborhood Outreach Initiative!
On Saturday, October 14th, we're extending a warm invitation to our entire church community to come together for a heartfelt neighborhood outreach initiative. Together, we can make a positive impact on our neighbors' lives.
Sharing Blessings: 50 Tracts and 50 Loaves of Bread
We've put together 50 special tracts, which include "Steps to Christ" and a health book, to share with our neighbors. Our goal is to distribute these tracts, along with a small gift of 50 loaves of bread, to 50 homes in our local area.
Building Stronger Connections
During our visits, we aim to do more than just share a loaf of bread and a tract. We want to take a few minutes to get to know our neighbors better. By engaging in friendly conversations, we hope to foster a sense of community and goodwill. If they're comfortable, we will also kindly request their contact details.
Creating Opportunities for the Future
Collecting contact information is not only a means of keeping in touch but also a way to extend invitations for future health expos or Bible studies. These events offer wonderful opportunities to delve deeper into our shared faith and promote healthy living. Through them, we can build stronger connections with our neighbors and continue to grow together.
Let's Come Together
This outreach initiative is a unique chance for us to create meaningful relationships with those who live nearby. Our faith teaches us to love and care for our neighbors, and this event is a beautiful way to put those teachings into practice. Let's seize this opportunity to make a difference, one neighbor at a time.
Join us on Saturday, October 14th, and be part of this inspiring initiative that demonstrates the power of community and compassion. Together, we can share blessings, build connections, and create opportunities for a brighter future.
Christmas Party for Less Fortunate Kids - December 10th, 2023
Our ACS Department, in collaboration with the Children's Department, is planning to host a heartwarming Christmas party at the City Church premises on December 10th. This event will be dedicated to bringing joy to 150 less fortunate children from the Moneni area, who are regularly provided meals by "Debbie's Soup Kitchen" every Sabbath.
To make this Christmas party a reality, we kindly ask for your contributions and donations to support this noble cause. Please refer to the poster for details on how to contribute, using the church account with the reference "Hope Hamper." Your generosity will help us brighten the holiday season for these deserving children.
Your participation and support in these events are invaluable, and they reflect the true spirit of our church community. Let us come together to make a positive impact on our neighbors and bring joy to the less fortunate during this festive season.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to Total Member Involvement. We look forward to seeing you at these events
